Sutong Bridge is located in the southeast of Jiangsu Province, connecting Nantong and Suzhou. It is 82 kilometers west of Jiangyin Yangtze River Highway Bridge and 108 kilometers east of the Yangtze River Estuary. The Sutong Bridge is 8.2 kilometers long. It connects with Yantong Expressway, Ningtong Expressway, and Tongqi Expressway on the north bank, and Sujiahang Expressway and Yanjiang Expressway on the south bank. Its main span reaches 1088 meters, making it the world's second longest span cable-stayed bridge. Its main tower is 300.4 meters high, making it the world's second tallest bridge tower. The two main piers of the main bridge are based on 131 The cast-in-place pile with a diameter of 2.5 meters to 2.85 meters and a length of about 120 meters is the world's largest pile group foundation; the longest stayed cable of the main bridge is 577 meters long, which is also the longest stayed cable in the world. The main works include: 1.493 million cubic meters of concrete for bridges and culverts, 49,000 tons of steel box girder, 230,000 tons of steel, 6,278 tons of stay cables, 3.176 million cubic meters of filling and excavation, and 11,000 mu of land requisitioned.
